Harry Styles ‘One Night Only’ Co-op Live latest after Ticketmaster cancels tickets

Ticketmaster has issued an update about Harry Styles’ Manchester gig taking place later this week. The former One Direction star is set to perform at Manchester Co-op Live this Friday (March 6), in a special ‘one night only’ gig to celebrate the release of his new album.

It comes after the 32-year-old star performed at the Brits on Saturday 28 February, marking the end to his live music hiatus, and came as a teaser of what’s to come later this week.

The Sign of the Times singer has dropped surprises after surprises on his fans so far this year, including the release of a new album Kiss All The Time, Disco Occasionally, a huge Together, Together tour which includes 12 nights at Wembley Stadium, plus the special one night only show in Manchester on the day of his album launch.

For this special show, Harry Styles tickets were released via request rather than through a traditional first come first served sale, and priced the tickets at an extremely affordable £20, with eligible fans entitled to a maximum of two tickets each.

These ticket requests went live on Friday, February 6, but since the tickets were released, there have been some issues with fans having their tickets cancelled due to being flagged as bots.

In an update shared on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday (February 28) Ticketmaster UK wrote: “Fans who have contacted the Helpdesk regarding their Harry Styles One Night Only order are currently being reviewed, and we’ll be in touch as soon as possible.”

In another message shared by the ticketing platform, Ticketmaster apologised for the fans who had their tickets cancelled, and explained that they are looking into rectifying this mistake.

One fan told the Manchester Evening News that after getting tickets to her ‘dream show’, she later had her tickets cancelled.

Poppy Burton, 22, from Somerset, who secured tickets for Harry’s ‘one-night only’ show this week, said: “I went to check my tickets and it said that they were Void, Ticketmaster had cancelled them. I had not received any email or any refund.

“An hour later, I received an email from Ticketmaster saying that they were cancelled due to being released in error. Lots of pairs of tickets cancelled. So many upset fans who thought they were going to their dream show and are now down in money by quite a lot because they thought they could trust Ticketmaster.”

Poppy added: “They [Ticketmaster] said to email them if you think they were cancelled in error yet when you email them they say they are looking into it ASAP and they will respond in 3 working days. The event is next Friday, people have lives, jobs, non refundable trains and hotels that they are left with, we can’t wait 3 days.”

After raising it with Ticketmaster, the 22-year-old Harry Styles fan did manage to get her tickets back after the company conducted a phone call with her to verify that she wasn’t a bot or a tout. Poppy paid online and was told that she will receive her tickets within 72 hours.

“It makes you lose trust in Ticketmaster,” she added. “I was quite upset, but also angry. I was confused how a company as large as Ticketmaster could make a mistake like this.”

The M.E.N approached Ticketmaster for comment, who pointed towards a social post which reads: “An update on tickets for Harry Styles ‘One Night Only’. A small number of tickets were mistakenly released during an inventory update. They were canceled and returned to the request program. These tickets will be included in next week’s final release via request. More details will be shared on Monday.
