Hairy Bikers star Si King has teased something “exciting” coming up as he reunited with the crew that travelled with himself and the late Dave Myers.
The Hairy Bikers, Si King and Dave Myers, began their television partnership in 2004 after meeting a few years earlier while both working in the background of the TV industry.
After 20 years on-screen together, Dave sadly died aged 66 in February 2024 following a cancer diagnosis. The Hairy Bikers star’s death was announced on February 28 by his co-star and friend of 30 years Si King.

The post read: “I’m afraid I bear some sad news. Most of you will know Dave has been fighting cancer for the past couple of years. Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home”.
It continued: “All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own. Personally, I am not sure I can put into words on how I feel at the moment. My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow.”
Si has paid tribute to Dave on a number of occasions following his death, including with Dave Day, a 30-mile motorcycle ride to celebrate his life. It was recorded for the documentary ‘The Hairy Bikers: You’ll Never Ride Alone’, which aired on BBC Two during the festive period last year.
Marking the two year anniversary of Dave’s death, Si took to his Instagram and shared a carousel of snaps of them both on their various adventures over the years.
In the caption of the tribute post, he penned: “Dave Myers 1957-2024. 2 years today mate and not a single day goes by without you being on my mind.”
Taking to the Hairy Bikers official Instagram page earlier this week, Si has teased that there’s to be an “exciting” update for his TV career, and has promised to keep fans updated.
He hinted: “Something very exciting is coming and I’ve pulled The Hairy Bikers crew back together for something special but I’m not giving too much away just yet…. All will be revealed very so make sure you are following this account and of course my Si King page for all of the updates.”
In a video, Si also explained what was happening after reuniting with the crew, as he said: “Hello everyone. Listen, I’ll let you into something a little bit special. We’ve started filming, I can’t really tell you what for just yet.
“But, this is the team that filmed all The Hairy Bikers stuff that Dave and I went around the world with all of those many, many times. Well, 5 to be precise! So all of these people we know and love very well so there we are.”
Fans flooded the comments with support, excited that Si might make his return to television under the Hairy Bikers name. @claire.stone.39 wrote: “Ooooooh exciting” as @mcevoy146 added: “Great stuff I will be waiting”.
